Hello! I'm Haley. I live in the lovely San Mateo with my sweet cat, B.B.1
I grew up in Seoul and spent most of my life there. As an undergrad I did Interaction Design plus a little bit of Computer Science, and played chamber music. I also worked at early-stage startups wearing many different hats.2
I came to the U.S. as a master's student. After I was done with schools I worked at Square while living in Boston. Then I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area chasing sunlight and also my partner. I worked briefly at Adept AI Labs, and then got acquhired into Amazon.
I'm currently working at Odyssey.
When I'm not locked in on generating shareholder value, I practice jazz bass, jam with friends, make silly noises to B.B., stare at paintings at museums, overanalyze movies, and cry at symphony halls. I try to read, write, paint, and keep my plants alive.3
My principle is to craft with care. I want to design software with a soul and websites worth wandering. I like to smudge the boundaries of product design, brand design, and prototyping with one question in mind: how would this make people feel?
